REP Coach and Manager - Information

  • Written by  Sandra Colica
VSC Rep Coaching Information
The Club has made every effort to provide players with the best-available teachers of the game.  Coaches are all certified by the Ontario Soccer Association and are pre-screened by the Club.
Teams are organized around coaching staffs as follows:
The Head Coach will have overall responsibility for the team and should be the first contact in the event of a problem.  He/she is responsible for team training and games (player substitution, discipline and tactics). Other coaches may participate, from time to time, in team practices and games.  Assistant Coaches are essential if a practice is to be meaningful. It is desirable, although not always possible, to have at least one Assistant Coach for each team.  All registered coaches must be certified as a Senior Community Coach.  The Club is mandated to provide training.
The Team Manager is an indispensable member of the team.  He/she relieves the Coach of all time consuming off-the-field details by handling all the administrative aspects of the team such as uniform and equipment orders, team and player registration, team telephone list, tournament registration and travel plans, league registration and travel plans, discipline matters, parent relations and all other items the Coach is not able to do.
All New Rep Team staff must fill out the New Rep Official application, have a Police Record Check, provide 3 written references (part of the Rep Application form) and be interviewed.
