URGENT MESSAGE FROM YRSA – please follow NEW PROCESS
I have now completed my month of Travel Permit "initiation" and we are now proposing the following changes to how the York Region Soccer Association processes travel permits and Applications to Host Exhibition Games.
1. Exhibition Games
Upon review of feedback from our Administrator's Workshop, we are recommending that ONLY an AHEG be submitted for an Exhibition game between two YRSA teams within our boundaries.
ATF/ travel permits will still be a requirement for teams travelling to exhibition games OUTSIDE of the district.
2. Approval of Tournaments and Exhibition Games
Clubs no longer need to send individual approvals for each permit. As long as a TEAM IS PROPERLY REGISTERED AT THE DISTRICT, the YRSA staff will approve any associated ATFs and AHEGs posted as long as there has been no notification from the club to do otherwise. All supporting documentation for Tournaments outside of the province (travel insurance, proper sanctioning information) must still be submitted by the club before approval can be granted for those tournaments.
NOTE: Please make sure that the Club ADMINISTRATORS still receive a copy of the application (ATF or AHEG) for club records.
3. In the event that a club requires an ATF or AHEG to be cancelled, 72 HOURS NOTICE IS REQUIRED IN WRITING in order for the permits to be denied.
4. CLUBS are strongly encouraged to view the OSA Switchboard database of ATF and AHEGs to see the weekly team movement being requested. It is up to the individual clubs to monitor that their teams follow their club policies on tournaments and travel if applicable.
These changes will expedite the approval process and reduce the amount of time Club Administrators have to spend on this process. These changes are effective immediately.
Thank you to all the Club Administrators who have provided helpful, useful feedback. It is a pleasure working together to improve our daily processes.
