OYSL - Patrice Gheisar
The first under 18 boys semi-final featured the Thunder Bay Chill and the Ottawa Capital United. A 4-0 shut-out for Thunder Bay sends the chill to the cup final. Gavin Hoy earned the hat trick with three goals for Thunder Bay while Jonathon Czaczkowski scored the other.
The Thunder Bay chill will meet the Vaughan Azzurri huskies in the final after the Azzurri Huskies shut-out the Mississauga Falcons 2-0 in the other semi-final. The Vaughan goal scorers were Gaby Deller-Borgono and Storm Wishart.
Thunder Bay and Vaughan met for what proved to be a tremendous final.  Both teams showed they were deserving of their place in the final through their smooth attacking play, and timely defending.
It was Thunder Bay that opened the scoring in the 23rd minute of the game.  Max Vaclav did the work to fight for a half-breakaway and finish to give his side the 1-0 lead. Thunder Bay carried their slim lead into half-time.
Vaughan came out on the attack in the second half, pressing hard for the equalizer. They found it in the 15th minute of the second half, when Victor Minatel capitalized from a corner kick to tie the score at one each.  Thunder Bay nearly reclaimed the lead, but David Toms effort came back off the post.
The U18 Boys final would be decided by kicks from the penalty mark.  It took nine rounds of kicks to settle this final, but it was all over when Vincent Mizzi hit the decisive spot kick for Vaughan, giving them the 2010 indoor Ontario cup.
